Best Six
The Best Six tournament to be held the first weekend of May on Toledo Bend is being worked on by the ALBC board. During the tournament, we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the ALBC. The board has a few plans in effect to help recognize the event ad anyone with suggestions should contact a director or officer so they could be implemented. All the Best Six applications have been sent to the clubs and clubs should be returning them to Maxine. We have changed the menu for the Friday evening feed and hope everyone will enjoy it.
State Team
The State Team tournament is scheduled for June 26 & 27, 2010 on Toledo Bend out of San Miguel State Park. The tournament was moved to Toledo Bend due to suggestions from the members that attended district meetings and gave their opinions on how to improve participation in the tournament. This tournament is open to all members of the association. Application for the tournament will be sent out after the new club rosters are returned, which are due by March 1.

The Tournament of Champions (TOC) will be held on Sept. 11 & 12. Location has not been confirmed at this time because all bids have not been returned. As soon as all bids are in and voted on, then the decision will be announced. Remember to fish your district Top 25 tournament to qualify for this event. The District Top 25 tournaments for each district is posted on the web site on the events page.
Shirts/Hats
In recognizing the ALBC’s 40th anniversary, shirts and hats are being made available to celebrate the event. The shirts and hats are available to look at and order from the web site and an order form will be sent to all clubs. Please go to the web site and look at the hat and shirt and also order some. They will also be advertised in the magazine that will be out very shortly.
Do not confuse this shirt with the Best Six shirt that will still be sold at the Best Six tournament.
LSUA/ALBC
LSUA and the ALBC will partner together to form a scholarship program to offer a scholarship to an individual pursuing a degree in either a biology and/or criminal justice program. The two organizations will conduct a fishing tournament on the Red River out of the Colfax Landing on August 14, 2010. Proceeds from the tournament will be used to begin the scholarship program. Make your plans to attend. This is an open tournament open to everyone.
Raffle Boats
Appears the raffle sales are going good. Both the north and south boat schedules are full and both boats are being used to promote raffle ticket sales. If you club is in need of raffle tickets, contact your district director and he will see that you get some.
Youth Fishing Events
Each district will be conducting Youth Fishing events in their areas. The dates of each District Youth Fishing event is posted on the web site on the Events page. Please take a kid fishing. The kids will be fed, given items, trophies and have a great time. These events will also be assisted by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries and helped sponsored by Academy in all six areas along with local sponsors. Please assist the District Director in your area with putting on this great event for the kids.
