State Team Tournament

The State Team tournament has been moved to March 7 & 8, 2009. It was scheduled a little earlier but due to the Bass Master’s Classic being held in February out of Shreveport, we had to reschedule the tournament because some of our members will be assisting with the classic. The tournament will still be held on the Red River but so not know at this time which city will host the tournament. Bids are being sent to Alexandria, Natchitoches and Shreveport. The members will be informed as soon as details are worked out with the host city. We hope by moving this tournament earlier into the year, will help with increasing participation.

Tournament of Champions (TOC)

The TOC has been moved to September 2009. The tournament was switched with the State Team tournament. This was done to try to increase participation in the State Team tournament. The TOC can only have a set number of teams due to the way the tournament format is set up. On the positive side, the district directors have the option of holding two Top 25 tournaments. They can hold one this year which they all have one scheduled already and another one next year prior to the TOC. This will give everyone two chances to qualify for the TOC. Hope each of you take the opportunity to participate in your district tournaments.

Raffle Boats

The Ranger raffle boats have been ordered and are due to arrive by late June. The tickets have also been ordered and are ready.. Please contact your District Director or Ronnie Cooper for tickets and/or to schedule the raffle boats to assist with selling tickets. This is the earliest we have had the tickets and the raffle boats and we should all take advantage of this and start selling tickets early and for a longer period of time. This will help your clubs, the ALBC and the Wildlife Federation. We need to Thanks Ranger Boats, Mercury Motors, Motor Guide and Lowrance for supporting, working and donating to the ALBC to make this possible for the association and its members. The Bass Federation supported the ALBC by donating the Lowrance depth finders to go on the new raffle boats. We thank them for that. Please have the dealer you work with, should you buy a new ranger boat, inform Ranger Boats that you are a member of the ALBC so the association can receive credit for your purchase.

Best Six Sponsors

It is very important that the supporters and sponsors of the ALBC Best Six tournament be listed and recognized. Without the support and donations of the supporters and sponsors, the tournament could not be as successful as it is. Please thank all the following when visiting their place of business.

As you can see it takes a lot of support to have a successful tournament. We must not forget all the workers that help put on the tournament. Most of the workers are made up from our wives, family members and association members. Special thanks go out to them.
